The process involves adsorption of fluoride to Activated Alumina nodules.

Normally, though the Activated Alumina has a life of over five years, use and throw models were promoted which were expensive and environmentally non-friendly.
There was no technology in the World for fluoride removal, which was cost-effective, user-friendly and also had a high degree of performance guarantee.
